In these times with the lack of money going around and companys going out of business left right and centre you would think they would bite your hand off to make a sale…. not so.. two companys I have made an enquirey with over a week ago have not even bothered to reply so obviously they are not to hard up for a bit of cash… though not from me matey I’m off elsewhere…..
Being one of the thousands who was dumped on by the XL airways collapse the airlines once again continued to rip travellers off…. we was stranded in Tenerife.
Lucky for us we had already started our holidays not like some who never even got away, our flight’s where ticket only and we was into our first week when we see about the collapse on Sky News
The first thing we did was to go and buy some tickets as who knows what the price would be later in the day, we was not wrong, our tickets cost us £440.00 to get home (two days earlier than we had planned) and we was later to learn a couple of elderly travellers paid over £800.00 to get home and this was on the same flight!!
Listening to sky news during the day the reports were saying Easyjet had offered to fly people home from anywhere for £75.00 whether this was true I have no idea but if it was why did we have to pay the amount we paid, another airline ripoff?
Now we have to wait to see if we get any money back, hopefully half the original ticket cost will be returned by Visa as we opened a dispute with them and maybe something from the administrator’s from XL for the cost of getting home…. and did I just see a pig fly past the window??
Checked my emails while on holiday and I had won the lottery….. unfortunately I could not check my lottery account as the password is highly encrypted so checked as soon as I got home, what could it be £50, £100, £1000 or even……?
£6.10 on the Euro lottery… gutted!!!!!
Been a long time since I wrote in here…. in fact don’t seem to have the time or in all honesty not really a person to keep a diary…
Well it’s now July and we have still not had a summer, plenty of rain, in fact to much!!!
Lots of things have happened, one of the saddest is to hear about the death of one of my daughters best friends a lovely girl so sad….
I’m still working hard…<grin> and the other half is now back to work after an op on her foot….
Well thats about it, soon be time to get ready for work and another day…
Looking forward to our holiday and hopefully some sunshine…. not long to go…

Kung Hei Fat Choi! (Happy New Year)
Spent a few hours today in London’s China town, to say it was packed is an understatement…..
The journey there should have been straight forward one train there and another back, but seems when London expected hundreds of thousands of people to arrive on Sunday to the biggest Chinese event outside Asia they shut down various parts of the underground to make it harder and longer to arrive at your destination… after FOUR trains and an hour and a half later we arrived in central London…
Still we had a good time….

Unfortunately on Tuesday 11th December 2007 Charlie had to be put to sleep after nearly 14 years with us…. so sad!
He had to have his teeth out a few months back (apart from the front set and his fangs) and since then has had a problem with eating, but that never actually stopped him, but the last few weeks has seen him getting his food all over his face, always scratching at his mouth and worst of all his mouth would not open, turned out that he had some form of tumour on his lower jaw bone which was getting worst and effected the swivel part of the jaw, pratically forcing it shut, so the kindest thing was to put him to sleep, he is deeply missed.
Added a new album to my gallery, which is for my collection of eQSL cards, for those not in the know these are cards you get to confirm you have had a two way radio contact.
I just wish that everyone used it as it’s a great way to send them rather than waiting for months in the hope one will turn up in the post….

Time to write (moan) again…. why do hams on contact with you ALWAYS say “I QSL 100%” but don’t?
That was one of the reasons I have not bought any qsl cards, but instead joined eQSL to send electronically a card… which with a couple of mouse clicks is easy… appears not so for the majority of contacts I have had.
